A Visitor On Europe’s Roads

Dinosaurs and a cellar bar

Barkhausen (where Ray played a house concert last night) is a small village of some 400 inhabitants but it has a UNESCO World Heritage Site where dinosaur tracks were discovered in a quarry which is now abandoned. Instead, it is now an open air museum where people, especially families, visit to see the tracks.

Here, Ray is looking at the dinosaur tracks.

Today, the tracks appear to walk up the wall. The land where the dinosaurs walked has been pushed up over 150,000 years. Click here for further information on this site (in English) and click here for the Saurierfährten website.

From the dinosaur park, we drove 150km east to Hildesheim to set up in a cellar bar called Littera Nova.

The entrance to the club is down these stairs. After going in, you turn left to go past the bar and then right to go into the rest of the club. The stage is in the first corner.

The middle room has a pool table and a variety of memorabilia. You can see the jukebox on the left.
A real Wurlitzer jukebox storing 45’s ranging from Cliff Richard to Elton John and Frank Sinatra.
The back room of the club. A group came in to sit there. They can still watch the stage on the closed-circuit TV.

The club attracts real music lovers. The stage has an upright piano which Ray used. The audience liked this very much and so Ray played two extra songs for them on the piano.

Many people are liking his new song, Even For A Shadow, and ask “which CD is it on?”. The title of this weblog site is “A Visitor On Europe’s Roads” which is a line taken from this song. It will appear on his new album to be released next year.
