Today, the drive south was though gently rolling countryside, starting with country roads usually with a cycle track alongside it, and then the two-lane autobahn.

The long drive was well worth it for the gig in Wegendorf Church. The church was built in the thirteenth century and has lovely acoustics. We recorded one video from the organ loft.

Tonight’s show was in the village church in Wegendorf, a small town jut north east of Berlin. Ray’s connection with Wegendorf comes from when he took a taxi in Berlin in 2013, got chatting to the driver and discovered that they had a lot in common. The driver was, and still is, Tom Hirschmüller who lives in Wegendorf. He has arranged a concert for Ray most years since then. Tom is a really interesting person, having grown up in East Berlin he can talk about what it was like before, during and after the wall came down and Germany was unified. Many people moved from the old East to old West Germany but Tom stayed and became one of the first taxi drivers who would take passengers anywhere in Berlin. The taxi drivers from the old West Berlin would not drive into the east.

We only needed to use amplification for the vocal. Click here to watch Ray perform Brave Wolfe.
Now we have two free days. Our weekend on this tour.
