This gig was hosted by Ben Stone who many Oysterband fans will remember as the artist for the album cover on Trawler as well as his designs for t-shirts and hoodies. Ben is now an acclaimed tattooer and a judge at tattoo conventions. The picture at the top of this post shows a collection of artwork by Ben to celebrate some of the museums in Derby.
Ben’s son Joe Stone is primarily a playwright and actor. He is also a sensitive singer-songwriter and opened the evening with five songs, playing a guitar given to him by Martin Simpson.

Ray began his set with Falling Like Thunder where the thud of the kick drum grabs your attention. He brought Grey Goose Wing back into his set, using the thundering church organ sound on his electric piano in preparation for being able to play it on the real church organ tomorrow night in Netley.
