Konzertdiele

The Konzertdiele (Concert Hall) in Moorhausen is in a renovated barn that dates back to the 16th century.

Here is the interior set up ready for the concert.

Charlie bought the property in 2003 and renovated the barn as a project with no particular usage in mind. When it was finished, he realised that it would make a good performance venue and so he installed a stage. The first concert was in 2011 with between 4 and 6 concerts each year since then. Ray was last here in 2024 and many in the audience returned tonight.

This was the last concert here in 2026. Charlie did not do one in August because he wanted to wait until Ray was available in September. He was rewarded by a full house.

This was the third full house in a row and a great way to finish the tour. Ray’s first encore was Even For A Shadow which is a song about being on the road so a good one to finish with. The audience brought him back for a second encore and then a third when he finally finished with Wayfaring Stranger sung acoustically.

Travelogue

Moorhausen is on the way to Bremerhaven and the north German coast. It is quite flat with many drainage channels and a long causeway between Oldenburg, where we were staying, and the venue.

On Sunday, we drive to Hamburg airport. The good news is there will be few trucks on the roads. The other news is having to cope with Hamburg traffic and then the congestion in the airport itself.
